Feeding Adriana

Yesterday, Scott and I took Adriana to meet her three cousins, Connor, Quentin, and Zeke.  The boys were SO excited to meet her.  We hadn't been there long when Adriana decided she needed to eat.  I went in the other room to feed her, and Quentin and Zeke followed me.  They kept asking if I brought her baby food.  I told them that I had it with me.

I sat down to feed Adriana, and both boys looked so confused.  Quentin asked what I was doing.  I told him that this is how she eats right now.  Both boys (at separate times) asked, "do you have a table in your boob?"

Quentin got bored with watching Adriana eat, but Zeke stayed the entire time.  At one point he asked me, "what is she eating, anyway?"  I said, "milk."  He said, "from your boob?"  I said yes.  He said, "well...I want some."

Don't call CPS.  I didn't let him have any.  :-)

Are They Still Talking About It?

On August 11, a stage blew down at our state fair. Several people were killed and injured and the event made national news. This morning, on the news, they said something else about it.

Connor: Are you kidding me...are they still talking about the stage collapsing?

Me: Yes they are.

C: It happened on August 11 and today is August 25. Are they ever going to stop talking about it?

Me: Well, there are still people recovering and some people have died in the last couple of days.

C: Seriously...they are going to be dead forever. Do we have to hear about it the rest of our lives?

(He should have been around when Diana died!!)

Don't Worry Dad...

We went duck pin bowling last weekend to celebrate Quentin's birthday. The lanes were pretty crowded when we got there, but there was one lane open so the boys all started playing.

When it was Quentin's turn, he picked up the ball and started to roll it, but a kid ran in front of him from another alley. So he stopped and waited for the kid to get out of the way. He tried again and the kid ran in front of him again. Again, he was patient and waited for the kid to get out of the way. This happened a few more times and Quentin waited patiently each time.

Finally, the mom came over and got the little boy. Quentin looked up at Brandon and said "Don't worry Dad...I think he may be artistic."

YES! I Was Right!

The boys were watching River Monsters last night, one of their favorite shows since they all like marine life (fish, sharks, crabs, etc) so well.

There is always a question in the middle of the show. They say something in another language and ask what it means, or something like that. Last night they did just that and I made a guess as to what it meant.

Quentin said "I'm guessing, but I'm not going to say it out loud"

After the commercial was over, River Monsters came back on and repeated the question. Then came the correct answer and I, of course, was wrong.

Quentin said (after not saying his answer out loud), "YES, I got it right!"

I Won't Let Anything Happen to You

We took the boys to Mall of America for the amusement park on Wednesday while we were on vacation. I took Zeke and Quentin on a ride that looked like a hot air balloon and the riders sit in a basket. It raises up a little then just goes around in a circle.

I sat on one side of the basket and Quentin and Zeke sat on the other side. I told Zeke if he was scared he could hold on to Quentin. Quentin said "Don't worry Zeke I won't let anything happen to you. I would let myself get hurt to keep you from being hurt."

The Most Important Bone in Your Body

The boys and Brandon were talking at supper the other night about different parts of their bodies. Quentin pointed to the knuckles on his hand and said they were some of the most important bones in his body.

Brandon asked Connor what he thought the most important bones in the body are. Connor said "your head bone (skull) is the most important bone in your body."

Brandon asked him why he thought that. Connor said because they protect your brain.

Quentin said "I think your weiner is the most important bone in your body"

End of conversation:-)

Which one?

On Wednesday, I went to pick the boys up from school. It was FINALLY a hot day and Quentin was the first to meet me "at the bench". I noticed that he must have just come in from recess because he was a little sweaty and his cheeks were bright red.

I said "Wow, Quentin, you look hot!"

He said "Which hot?"
