Real Life

There is a minor league baseball in the city near where we live. Last year they had a "Star Wars Night" and the team wore special jerseys. They were really cool...they were mostly black with stars all over them. They gave the jerseys away to several lucky fans. They would call out ticket numbers to find the winners

Connor, who was five at the time, got excited every time they started calling numbers and was SURE he would win. When they didn't call his ticket number, being five, of course he would get mad.

We tried to explain to him that everyone in the stadium was hoping they would win a jersey and some people would win, but MOST people would not win one.

They started calling numbers again, and again, he did not win. So again we tried to explain that it would be nice to win, but most people there would not win.

One of us said to him "That's just real life"

Connor's response..."I HATE real life"

He didn't win, but he got over it and we had a good time.
