The Real House

Brandon and the boys have moved into their own house.  The house is two doors up the street from our house.  Zeke is not quite understanding the whole concept.  One day he said to me "I thought you said we bought that house"

I said "yes, daddy bought that house for the four of you"

Zeke:  "so when are you and Poppy going to move there with us?"

I told him it was just to be daddy and the three brothers living there.  Poppy and I would be staying in our house.  He just said "oh...ok"

A few days later, they were getting ready for school and I was waiting to take them.  Zeke was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and yelled out "DAD!"  Brandon called from his room "What Zeke?"

Zeke:  "Will you go up to our real house and get some cups for the bathroom?"

I Love the Ladies

The boys love watching the Family Feud lately.  They were dying to watch the very old ones with Richard Dawson as the host.  Finally, I got a couple of them recorded and we were all watching one at relax time.

One family consisted of four men and one woman.  The other family was all women.  It was a pretty close game but in the end, the family that was made up of all women won the game.

Zeke cheered and said "I'm glad they won...I LOVE the ladies"

Getting Another One

My mom passed away in August after living with us for 6 1/2 years except for the last two months of her life.  She had to move into a nursing home in June.  The last three years she lived with us, Brandon and the boys also lived with us.  So from the time Zeke was one year old, he and my mom lived with us.  They really loved each other.

One night, a few weeks after Mom passed away, Zeke told me that he had been thinking about Dot Dot .  I asked him if he missed her.

He said he did miss her and thought for a few minutes.  Then he said "I wish we could get another one"

I Know How to Spell "Dance"

Quentin takes dance lessons on Monday and Wednesday at the Classic City Center.  On the side of the building are three huge "C"s.

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up the boys and was taking Quentin to dance.  I pulled into the parking lot and Zeke said, very smugly, "I know how to spell 'dance'"

I said, "you do?  How do you spell 'dance'?"

Very confidently, he said "C-C-C"

Did I Look Like That?

Brandon took the boys to Elizabeth's house one Saturday recently. After spending the day at the Children's Museum, Elizabeth was getting Adriana ready for bed. Quentin and Zeke went upstairs with her to give Adriana a bath. Elizabeth got her undressed and put her in the tub. Quentin looked at Elizabeth after noticing Adriana and said "Did I look like that when I was a baby?" Elizabeth said, "No...Adriana is a girl. Remember, girls don't have weiners and boys do." Zeke said "So, when did it fall off?"

What Does That Mean?

Quentin: Grandma Coley I have a joke for you.

Me: Ok...go ahead...

Quentin: An elephant was talking to a naked guy and said "That's really nice but can you pick up a peanut with it?" I laughed and Quentin laughed.

Quentin: What does that mean? (I laughed to myself)

Me: (touching Quentin's nose)Well, you know how and elephant can pick up peanuts with his trunk...his nose.

Quentin: Ohhhh yeahhhh....

Connor: Then what makes a difference if the guy he is talking to is naked?

Me: Hmmm....welllll....

Quentin: Oh, I get it!!!

Me: You do?

Quentin: Yeah...you know...peanuts...like nuts

I Could Be Your Best Friend

We went to Fort Wayne last night and I was walking out of the restaurant with Zeke. He grabbed my hand and said "I wish I was the same age as you" I said "Why would you want to be my age?" He said "Because then I could be your best friend"
