Which one?

On Wednesday, I went to pick the boys up from school. It was FINALLY a hot day and Quentin was the first to meet me "at the bench". I noticed that he must have just come in from recess because he was a little sweaty and his cheeks were bright red.

I said "Wow, Quentin, you look hot!"

He said "Which hot?"

Christmas 2009

For Christmas 2009, I bought a camera for Brandon and told Connor and Quentin about it and that they could give it to Daddy for Christmas if they wanted to. They were excited about it and said they wanted to.

Brandon kept asking the boys what they got him for Christmas and they would answer with silly answers or they would tell him they weren't going to tell. One day, he was pressing them quite a bit to tell him what they got him and they refused everytime...that is until...

B: Come on guys tell me what you got me.

Q & C: NO!!!

B: Come on...

Q & C: NO!!!

B: Come on...I'll give you $10,000

(He barely got the last syllable out of his mouth when...)

If I Was Her...

On the way to school today, the boys were watching "The Sound of Music". They loved it and I was so glad they did because it is one of my favorite movies. They kept asking questions about it and talking about it and laughing and singing...it was great!

It came to the scene where all the children are in Maria's room during a thunderstorm because they are scared. (She sings "My Favorite Things") The captain comes in and is very angry because they did not follow their strict bedtimes. Maria sends them off to bed while the captain stays and reprimands Maria. She asked him for material to make play clothes for the children which makes him even madder. She ends up saying angrily "They are children!" and the captain says "YES AND I AM THEIR FATHER" He storms out of the room leaving Maria stunned.

Quentin says "If I was her, I would say 'oh crap' right now!"

The Embarrassing Easter Egg Hunt

The day before Easter, Elizabeth brought candy-filled eggs for Brandon to hide so the boys could have and Easter egg hunt while they were here. Brandon hid 48 eggs. The boys had a blast looking for them and finding all but three of them.

Brandon kept looking around to see where the last three might be. But in the end, they were lost for good apparently.

Connor kept walking around looking for them saying "This is so embarrassing. I can't believe he didn't make a map"

I Miss the Younger Years

This morning, while eating his chosen cereal for breakfast, Connor said "On Sunday or some other day when we have more time, can we have "baggie eggs" for breakfast again?" (You put two eggs in a baggie and put omelet toppings in, squish it up and boil it until the egg is done)

I said "sure we can do that. I'll get all the stuff"

Connor said "Good. I'm glad we can make them again. I really liked doing that. I miss the younger years"

I Don't Want the Pee

Last night, I was making a couple of eggs for my supper and Zeke decided he wanted eggs, too. I asked him if he wanted scrambled and he said "No. Yogi eggs" (over easy)

So I made him two "yogi" eggs. He sat down at the table and I was cutting the white part off the yolk so he could eat the white part first. While I was cutting, I knicked the yellow part and the yolk started running out.

Zeke said "I don't want the pee."

I was startled and said "what?"

He said "I don't want the pee."

I said "I don't know what you mean. What are you talking about?"

He pointed at the yolk running out on the plate and said "there...I don't want the pee"

The Baby's Gotta Pee?

The other day, I picked Connor up at school then went to Jessica's to pick up the other two boys. On the way to Jessica's Connor and I were listening to the radio and "Sounds Like Life to Me" came on. The first part of the song played...

"Sara's old car's 'bout to fall apart and the washer quit last week. We had to put Mama in the nursing home and the baby's cuttin' teeth"

Connor acted startled and said "WHAT...the baby's gotta pee!?!?!?!?"
